Health Emergency Operations Center (HEOC) has said that the sample collection centers in various areas of Male' City will be doing free PCR tests to travel to other islands.
The new regulations released by the Health Protection Agency (HPA) last Thursday said that if 60 percent of an island has been vaccinated with the second dose not vaccines, people can travel to that island without having to quarantine upon arrival.
However, if an island has over five percent positive cases of COVID-19, a negative PCR test is required to travel. And those who are not eligible for vaccines also require a negative PCR test.
At the HEOC press conference today, Fathimath Ana said that free PCR tests are available even now from the Flu Clinics taking release samples.
She further siadn that there are 120 islands that has 60 percent of their population administer the first dose of vaccine and there are no islands so far with over 60 percent vaccinated with the second dose.
