Maldivian Foreign Minister, Abdulla Shahid, has met with high ranking officials of the United States Treasury and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

The meeting took place as part of the Minister’s ongoing visit to the US capital, Washington DC.

At the meetings, areas of further cooperation on capacity building, human resource development, and financial sector management for the Maldives, were identified.

Minister Shahid was accompanied in the meeting by State Minister at the Foreign Minister, Ahmed Khaleel, and Ali Naseer Mohamed, the Permanent Representative of the Maldives to the UN and the Maldivian Ambassador to the United States.
