Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid met with the External Affairs Minister of India Dr. S. Jaishankar, today.

During the meeting held at Hyderabad House, Minister Jaishankar welcomed Minister Shahid on his first visit to New Delhi since January 2020. Minister Shahid thanked Minister Jaishankar for the warm welcome and generous hospitality, extended to him and his delegation.

Both Ministers also discussed the current situation of Covid-19 and vaccination programs. Minister Shahid thanked the Government of India for the assistance provided to the people of Maldives during the pandemic.

The External Affairs Minister assured Minister Shahid of India’s ongoing support for the socio-economic development of the Maldives, including the uninterrupted supply of essential commodities.
