Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) is seeking the recount of ballots from six constituencies following the Local Council Elections held last Saturday.
Speaking during a press conference held today, Chairperson of MDP Hassan Latheef said that they have requested to recount ballot boxes from six constituencies in Male' City. He added that they are seeking the recount since the number of invalid votes for these ballot boxes was quite high and that the possibility of this number decreasing after a recount was highly likely.
Constituencies for which MDP is seeking a recount:
- Central Henveiru
- South Henveiru
- West Henveiru
- North Mahchangoalhi
- North Maafannu
- West Maafannu
