Meemu Atoll Airport Development Project has been mobilized in a special ceremony at Muli.

The ceremony at Muli today was attended by the CEO of the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), Adam Azim and other senior officials along with the MP for Dhiggaru constituency, Ikram Hassan, MP for Muli constituency, Ibrahim Nasser and the President of the Muli Island Council, Ahmed Shaathir.

The project contracted was signed on 28 February 2021 with MTCC for MVR 221.733 million.

Meemu Airport Development Project entails reclaiming 14 hectares of land by dredging, securing 1,812 meters of beach area and develop a runway that is 1,200 meters long and 30 meters wide with an accompanying taxiway and apron.
