Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has said that the asphalting the roads Haa Dhaalu Atoll Hanimaadhoo under thr road development project at the island will be starting this May.

The company said that 70 percent of the road development project has been completed and the ABC layering of the roads commenced yesterday and the asphalt will follow next month.

Under the Hanimaadhoo Road Development Project, an area of 6,518 square meters is set to be developed for pedestrian foot traffic while an area of 38,916 square meters are to be developed for vehicles along with installing traffic signs for an area of 9, 679.7 square meters.

Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure contracted the project to MTCC for MVR 46.7 million and the project was mobilized on 15 June 2019.
