Raa Atoll Maakurathu and Noonu Atoll Lhohi has been placed under monitoring as well.

Lhohi went under monitoring after a person from the Felivaru cluster tested positive for COVID-19 on the island.

And Maakurathu was placed under monitoring after a person from the Ungoofaaru cluster tested positive on the island.

With this development, there are now 15 islands under monitoring.

A boat traveling between Male' City and Ungoofaaru has been identified as to how COVID-19 was found on the island and the people who travel on the boat as been placed in to quarantine. Also, people who traveled to Ungoofaaru from Maduvvari, Hulhudhuffaaru, Dhiffushi and Lh. Naifaru has tested positive placing them in quarantine and the islands going to monitoring.

While it is yet unclear how the disease traveled to Felivaru, a number of islands in the Lhaviyani Atoll has been placed under monitoring as well.

Lhohi was placed under monitoring on a previous occasion as well after a number of people tested positive for COVID.
