Judges’ Council at the Criminal Court has decided to look into the allegations made by the Chairperson of the Commission on Disappearances and Deaths, Husnu Suood, regarding its integrity as slander against the court.

A statement issued by the Criminal Court said that after Suood tarnished the name of the court and made severe allegations against the judges and employees of the court, the Council of Judges have decided to look into the case under the regulation of protecting the courts integrity, as a case of defamation of the court.

The Criminal Court said that a panel of five judges has been appointed and the preliminary hearing is set for 2 p.m. tomorrow. However, the court did not announce the names of the judges on the bench.

Suood was summoned by the Judicial Service Commission yesterday where he gave the evidence that supports the allegations he made at a press conference of the Commission on Disappearances and Deaths alleging that Criminal Court Judges have a close relations with gangs.
