Maldives have received 5,850 doses of the Pfizer vaccine today.

These vaccine doses were received by the Maldives under the Covid-19 Vaccines Global Access (COVAX) Facility.

In addition to Pfizer, the Maldives Food & Drug Authority had permitted the emergency use of China's Sinopharm Vaccine on March 14th.

About 12,000 doses of Covishield Vaccine were donated to the Maldives by the COVAX facility previously. HEOC had also announced that under the COVAX facility, Maldives will receive 113,850 doses of vaccine.

Maldives first observed vaccinations with the Covishield Vaccine that was donated by India. While the country is now continuing vaccinations with the Sinopharm vaccine, the total number of people who have received the first dose of the vaccine is now at 220,768.
