A fisherman onboard a vessel near Lhaviyani Atoll Muli Buoy has been rushed to Naifaru after a fishing hook caught in his eye.

MNDF said that a request was made this morning at 7:30 a.m. from the fishing boat "Rukkuri" after a fisherman's eye got caught in a fishing hook. And it was around 9:14 a.m. when the 35-year-old man was taken to Naifaru for treatment.

There has been a recent surge of sea incidents involving fishermen and fishing hooks.
