A Russian company announced that they will be taking advertisements to space.

The company, named Star Rocket wants to send smaller reflective satellites to showcase advertisements 300 miles above the people it will target.

StarRocket is reportedly working on sending what is known as Cubesats into the lower orbit of Earth. Cubesats are described as  small spacecrafts the size of briefcases. The Cubesats will reportedly rearrange themselves to show advertisements.

The Cubesats reportedly work through reflecting the sun’s rays and so will only show advertisements when the angle of sunlight is just right. Each advertisement will reportedly take up 50 square kilometers.

While the company is placing itself to show advertisements using the most recent technology, many are disagreeing with the company’s decision. Those who disagree with this new development cite the reason as not wanting extra light pollution up in the sky.
