Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has provided assistance to a person on a fishing boat after a sudden medical incident.

MNDF said that a sudden medical emergency was reported this morning at 9:03 a.m. from the fishing boat "Khazana" which was in the middle of Lhaviyani Atoll with 14 people.

The emergency reported was that a 30-year-old crewman on board suffered a seizure, according to the MNDF. The man has now been transported to Lh. Naifaru for further treatment.

There have been previous incidents at sea such as this that had more tragic endings.
