Maldives Customs Service has said that 74 percent of their employees have been vaccinated with the first dose of Covishield vaccine.

Customs said that employees who got the first dose include those who work at Velana International Airport, Male', Hulhumale' and the regional offices and more employees are preparing to be vaccinated.

Along with the Customs Service, a large number of employees have been vaccinated from the Maldives Police Service and numerous government offices.

COVID-19 vaccinations began in the Maldives on 1 February 2021 with the Covishield vaccine donated by the Indian government. So far, 105,492 people have received the first dose of the vaccine.
