Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment, Ahmed Mahloof has said that from the projects contracted, the ministry would not be accepting the handover of the projects completed in violation of the contract agreement.
He made the remark responding to questions at the Parliament after some MPs questioned the work of some contractors doing projects for the Youth Ministry.
Minister Mahloof said that the ministry has stepped in when some contractors violate the agreement or when the quality of the work starts dropping.
And so, the Gaafu Alifu Vilingili futsal pitch and some projects in Alifu Alifu Thoddoo were presented as examples of intervention.
Mahloof said that the Ministry have refused to accept the handover of Hinnavaru Turf Pitch because the contractor did not proceed according to the agreement and would only accept the handover when the issues in the pitch subway has been fixed.
He said that of the projects awarded by the Youth Ministry are being completed within the agreement timeframe by the contractors, numerous projects on numerous islands would have been completed.
