President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has appointed Dr. Mohamed Zahir to the Elections Commission.

The appointment was made at a special ceremony held at the President's Off this morning. The oath of office was delivered by the Chief Judge of the High Court, Hathif Hilmee.

Dr. Zahir attained his PhD from the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA), Bangkok, Thailand and he completed his Master of Business Administration from the Open University in Malaysia.

He has previously served as an Assistant Professor at the Maldives National University (MNU) and filled the position of Director at the Elections Commission.
