Meemu Atoll Kolhufushi has been placed under a state of monitoring.

The island was previously placed under monitoring on 24 January after a person who traveled to the capital from the island tested positive for COVID-19. And 33 more positive cases were found via random samples and the state was lifted on 11 February.

Kolhufushi was placed under monitoring again yesterday after a random sample collected on 16 February tested positive. And 64 others have been identified as direct contacts and samples have been collected for testing.

The 33 people who tested positive for COVID-19 last month have all recovered.
