Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid has revealed that India is set to donate another 100,000 doses of the coronavirus vaccine.

Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar presented the donation to Minister Shahid during a ceremony held at the Foreign Ministry today.

Currently, the vaccinations that are being given in the Maldives are the 100,000 doses of Covishield that was donated by India previously. The shipment of vaccines arrived in the Maldives on January 20th. Over 70,000 people have been vaccinated since February 1st.

World Health Organisation (WHO) has also approved the Covishield vaccine for emergency use.
