President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has said that there needs to be an MDP majority if the current administration is to work on fulfilling its pledges. This is the first time President Solih has publicly said that Parliament needs an MDP majority.

Previously, President Solih had maintained the position that there needs to be majority support from the Parliament if the administration is to fulfill its pledges. This is the first time that President Solih has mentioned that it is MDP who should win majority in Parliamentary seats.

Speaking at an event held at MDP campaign hall, President Solih said that defeating the previous governance and the bringing about a new administration took place with a lot of hope from the people.

He said that there are certain hopes of the people that came with the election of the new administration. The President reiterated that fulfilling the hopes can only be achieved by the current administration through the support of a majority of the Parliament.

President Solih expressed his gratitude to all those who worked diligently on the MDP primary elections.
