Speaker of Parliament, former President Mohamed Nasheed has said that getting COVID-19 vaccine is constitutional obligation.

Speaking about the vaccination program at the parliament today, Speaker Nasheed said that not taking the vaccine is not a legal option and everyone should vaccinate. And so, the purpose of the consent form for the vaccination is unclear aside from gathering information in case of a negative reaction.

He said that about 30 MPs have gotten the vaccine so far but some MPs are afraid of injection needles and some of those MPs are married to nurses.

A special video was presented at the parliament today regarding the vaccination being carried out at the parliament.
