The parliament has approved the non-resident ambassadors for eight countries including the current Maldivian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Mohamed Khaleel (G. Uthuruge) also approved to take on the position of the non-resident ambassador for Palestine.

And so, the Maldivian Ambassador to Germany, Ahmed Latheef was approved for the Non-resident Ambassador to Ukraine while the Ambassador to India, Hussain Niyaz was approved for the Non-resident Ambassador for Azerbaijan and the Maldivian Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Umar Abdul Razzaq was approved for the Non-resident Ambassador for Australia and South Africa.

The Maldivian Ambassador to Thailand, Mohamed Jonah was approved for the Non-resident Ambassador for Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos. And the Permanent Representative in Geneva, Dr. Asif Ahmed was approved for the Non-resident Ambassador for Italy, Turkey and Austria while the Maldivian Ambassador for UAE, Aminath Shabeena was approved for the Non-resident Ambassador for Egypt and the Ambassador in Singapore, Ibrahim Shaheen was approved for the Non-resident Ambassador for New Zealand.
