Spokesperson of the Health Emergency Operations Center (HEOC), Dr. Fathimath Nazla Rafeeq has said that this is the worst wave of COVID-19 infections in the Maldives.
"I can tell you with absolute certainty that this is the worst wave of COVID-19 infections we have had" Dr. Nazla said on Twitter this afternoon.
She said that with "hospitalisations alarmingly high and a handful beds remaining, our state is critical".
Dr. Nazla said that staying protected from COVID-19 is very easy. And washing hands, wearing masks and keeping a three feet distance would help control the spread. And for the safety of every one, advised immediate testing after observing any of the symptoms.
With the spike in cases in the Male' City area, a vehicle have been imposed today from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. along with a curfew from 11 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.
