The Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services has opened nominations for their annual 'Rehendhi Award'.

The award is presented to celebrate and acknowledge the women’s contribution to society and the various industries at a national level and is given in recognition of the outstanding services to national development and the development of the role of women.

A statement issued by the Gender Ministry today noted that nominations for the award are open until 28th February 2021. Interested individuals can either self-nominate themselves or be nominated by another individual as well.

In addition to this, companies, offices, institutions, and other organizations can also nominate.

The Ministry also highlighted that the terms and conditions of the categories of the award and the application form can be downloaded on Gender Ministry’s website. They will also be issued from the ministry as well as the Family and Children’s Service Centres across the country.

Seven women were conferred with the award in 2021.
