A person is being treated at the operation theater at the Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) another tragic incident has taken place at the Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) area.

The incident took place around 2:15 a.m. last night.

Media Official of the IGMH has confirmed to One Online that victim was brought to the main theater late last night and it is unclear when he would be brought out. And the exact injuries cannot be released before that.

An official from MPL said that the incident took place after a crane loading carpet rolls lost balance and a carpet roll fell on the person. The official said that loading cargo as such is done by freelance groups paid by the owners of the cargo and this current handling was done by Mina Investment Clearance Group.

The official said that there are strict measures in place for safety and protection. And as such, being under the crane while loading and unloading is not allowed.
