A Maldivian has passed away due to COVID-19 related complications, raising the total COVID-deaths in the country to 54.
Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that tonight at 08:20pm, a 84-year-old Maldivian male admitted at DH11 has passed away. They added that this becomes the 54th COVID death in the country.
With this, the total number of COVID deaths in the country is currently at 47 locals and seven foreigners that include nationals from Bangladeshi and Philippines.
The first reported COVID-19 death in the country was on 29 April 2020 after an 83-year-old woman passed away.
