Immigration has made the decision to offer the services to complete passport applications via email.

The Immigration Controller, Mohamed Ahmed Hussain (Hanafee), and other officials held a press conference today. Ahmed Hussain said that the biggest complaint received by the service is regarding difficulties in applying for a passport. He said that it is time that the expectations of citizens meet with services of immigration.

He stated that passports can be collected at any of the four centers established by immigration, following an application via email.

The centers are located in Male', Haa Dhaal Atoll Kulhuduffushi, Addu Cuty and Fuvahmulah.

Hanafee said that the service is currently working on introducing an online passport application system before the end of this year.
