Health Minister, Ahmed Naseem has said that the first shipment of the 700,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine will be brought next month.

In a media interview after getting vaccinated at the nation-wide vaccination campaign today, Minister Naseem said that it would be a mistake to bring the vaccine needed by the country all at once. And so, the vaccines will be brought in multiple shipments.

He also said the vaccines provided to 20 percent of the population by the WHO’s COVAX Facility will be arriving around the middle of this month.

In response to a question from One Online regarding the shipment arrival under the agreement with Astrazeneca, Minister Naseem said that the first shipment will be arriving next month. However, the quantity and the exact delivery date was not revealed.

To acquire the required vaccine, agreements have been signed under the authority of the Finance Minister as authorized by the Financial laws to bring changes so that some of the pars of the law does not have to be followed.
