Immigration Controller, Mohamed Ahmed Hussain, (Hanafee) has said that 144, 607 expatriates have legally entered and are currently working in Maldives. He said however, that there are an estimated 63,000 expats working illegally in Maldives.

The Immigration Controller had said this while speaking to the press this morning.

He noted that there are numerous expats who have been brought in to Maldives for various works. He also said that out of these, a 112 expats were deported for various crimes last year.
