Interim leader of Progressive Congress Coalition, AbdulRaheem Abdulla (Adhurey) and PNC Deputy Leader Ibrahim Shujau have been taken to Dhoonidhoo, after being arrested at different protests held by the opposition coalition today.

Three members of the opposition leadership were arrested during the protests held today. This includes PPM Deputy Leader Ahmed Shiyam in addition to Adhurey and Shujau.

Shujau and Adhurey were arrested while protesting against the vaccine provided by India, in front of Dharubaaruge today. They have since been taken to the detention facility in Dhoonidhoo.

Shiyam was arrested during the protest held to call for the release of former President Abdulla Yameen. He was released moments after being arrested.

Adhurey and Shujau will be presented to the Criminal Court tomorrow for a remand hearing.

The opposition coalition as of late have been conducting a series of protests on the streets to. tackle various issues.
