Former President Nasheed has said that the development of Addu City is integral to the security of the country.

Nasheed spoke at the primaries campaign event of Parliamentary hopeful for the Addu-Meedhoo constituency, Rozaina Adam saying that there is no country in the world with only one city. He said therefore, that the development of Addu City needs to move forward.

Nasheed said that there are plans to develop Addu City to the degree that future generations will be proud. He said that he will continue working towards the development of the city as long as he is a free man.

Nasheed assured that he does not necessarily need to be elected to an official position to work on the progress. He reiterated that simply having the ability to walk or even having his independance will ensure that Nasheed will work on the matter.
