Following the delivery of the first shipment of the COVID-19 vaccine provided to the Maldives by the neighboring India, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has expressed his gratitude to the Indian Government and Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.

Addressing the nation today, President Solih said that with the delivery of the first shipment of vaccines, the hope of overcoming the difficulties of the past ten months have been renewed.

He said that despite the hope we receive today, there is still a lot more to be done and advised the public to continue heeding the guidelines set by health experts.

“Wear your mask every time you head out and avoid mass gatherings for the time-being. Remember to maintain your distance and frequently wash your hands.” The President said.
