Thimarafushi Airport has commenced operations of landing flights at night.

The Communications and Public Relations Manager of Island Aviation, Moosa Waseem, spoke at an event at Thimarafushi last night stating that starting from last night, the amount of flights that land at Thimarafushi Aiport will increase. He noted that Thimarafushi Aiport is one the three aiports run by Island Aviation. Moosa said that the company will always prioritize exceptional and quality service.

The Minister of State for Transport and Civil Aviation, Ahmed Zuhair was the chief guest at the event in Thimarafushi. The State Minister noted that more frequent operations of Maldivian on the runways of Thimarafushi is convenient not only for the citizens of the island, but to all of Thaa Atoll. He noted that there will be various other benefits to those travelling for medical or educational purposes. The Minister also said that this is an added progress for those conducting guesthouse business on the island.

The Minister of State for Transport and Civil Aviation Ahmed Zuhair had formally handed over operations of night flights to the Managing Director of Island Aviation, Mohamed Rizvi, at the ceremony held tonight.

The landing of the first ever night flight at Thimarafushi Aiport took place tonight.
