Maldivian Ambassador to New Delhi Ms. Aishath Mohamed Didi, has paid a courtesy call to Vice President Faisal Naseem.

VP Naseem greeted the Ambassador's visit this morning with a warm welcome.

The Vice President spoke to the ambassador at the meeting and said that there are many joint Maldives-India ventures underway. As such, the VP also said that Maldives will be seeking assistance from India to improve aid to children with special needs.

The Vice President requested the Ambassador to work on bringing in more tourists from India. He said that there needs to be more opportunities for Maldivians to carry out higher studies in India. The VP also requested the Ambassador to address challenges faced by Maldivians already residing and studying in India.

The Ambassador said that she will rise to the occasion and focus on all the areas that have been highlighted by the VP. She also noted that she will work diligently to sustain the name of Maldives in a positive light.
