An Indian national have been arrested for attacking an elderly man inside a mosque in Hulhumale’.

Maldives Police Service said that incident took place inside Masjid al-Azeeza Moosa mosque after the Indian man tried to forcefully remove the elderly man from the mosque after accusing him of having a bad odor.

Police said that the Indian national who instigated have been place under arrest and the case is being investigated further.

Sources have said the elderly man was in prayer when the attempt was made to remove him from the mosque.
