Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has said that the harbor development project at Vaavu Atoll Rakeedhoo is close to completion.

The company said that the concrete work for the inner sea wall and pavement have been completed and while the inner sea wall and pavement work was completed on 4 January with 13 percent of the dredging of the beaching area.

The Rakeedhoo harbor development project entails 5,654 cubic meters of harbor dredging, 164 meters of inner sea wall, 156 meters of outer sea wall, 74 meters f revetment, 429 square meters of pavement along with harbor lights and street lamps installation. MTCC has said that 73 percent of the overall project has been completed.

The project was contracted for MVR 18.5 million.
