Waste Management Corporation (WAMCO) has said that starting today, the residential houses in Male’ City would have to bring out the waste for collection at night.

Previously, waste collection in Male’ City takes place between 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. However, starting today, the waste has to be brought out between 10 p.m. to 12 a.m. and the collection would begin at 12 a.m.

The change in collection times is only in effect in Male’ while Vilimale’ and Hulhumale’ retains the previous collection times. And as before, the waste needs to be brought out as the WAMCO employees would not be going into buildings floor by floor.

Managing Director of WAMCO, Adam Mohamed has previously requested support from the public for the work stating that it is difficult work for their collection employees as they are working nights without sleep.
