Leader of Joint Parliamentary Group (JPG), Abulla Riyaz has urged the MP of Dhidhoo constituency Abdul Latheef to retract Bill preventing former Presidents from running for Parliament.

The Minority Leader of Parliament Abdulla Riyaz took to twitter to urge MP Latheef to make this move.

Nasheed is one of the leaders of the coalition of Political parties and had announced his intention of running for Parliament recently. MP Riyaz said that the Bill was submitted by MP Latheef without any discussions with JP.

The JP group Leader informed One Online regarding their stance, and stated that JP stands firmly against supporting the Bill.

Recent addition to JP, MP Latheef of Dhidhoo constituency had submitted a Bill preventing former Presidents from running for a Parliamentary seat.
