A Bangladeshi national entering Maldives has been caught with 3 kilograms of narcotics.
The narcotics have been confiscated from a 21-year old man from Bangladesh. A statement published by Maldives Customs Service, said that the drugs were found upon inspecting the luggage of the man. Customs reported that various brown colored "leaves" were found, bound and hidden in a packet.
Customs also reported that the findings in the luggage tested positive for Cannabis. The service reported that both the smuggler and the narcotics have been handed over to the Maldives Police Service.
Customs had intercepted narcotics from a 31 year old Bangladeshi national last week. The case involved attempted smuggling of narcotics worth MVR 1.6 million.
