Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has said that the harbor development project at Alifu Dhaalu Atoll Hangnaameedhoo is well under way and 12 percent of the project has been completed so far.

The company said that the ongoing work is the dredging of the existing harbor basin.

As part of the project entails 4,645 cubic meter existing harbor basin dredging, 404 cubic meters of dredging at the new harbor entrance, 193 meters of outer sea wall, 160 meters of revetment and the pavement and street lamp installation in an area of 266 square meters.

The project worth MVR 32.2 million was contracted in late December 2019.
