The total number of COVID-19 cases has risen to 13,583 after another 25 people tests positive for the illness.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 21 people have tested positive from the Male' area and four people from the atolls. HPA did not clarify numbers in terms of locals and foreigners.

In the same time frame, 15 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 13,026 with another 502 people still in treatment. There are 36 people being treated at the hospitals according to the HPA.

So far, there have been 48 COVID-related fatalities in the Maldives that includes 41 locals, six Bangladeshi nationals and a man from Philippines. Related
