Maldives Police Service has completed the investigation against the two men who physically and sexually abused a mother and her three children, and sent the case to the Prosecutor General’s Office (PG Office).

Police arrested a 39-year-old mand and a 24-year-old man with a court order in connection to the case. While both of them have been ordered to be detained until the end of their trial, the 39-year-old suspect is the man charged as an accomplice in supporting the abuse of the wife and step-children.

The police media official told One Online today that the request for prosecution was made yesterday at the PG Office.

Sources say that this is a case of a man holding his wife and step children in his home for three months in the name of “Ruqyah” (exorcism) and physically abuse the wife and a seven-year-old child both physically and sexually.
