Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has said that 64 percent of the harbor development project at Vaavu Atoll Rakeedhoo has been completed.

The company said that current on going work is that of the new beaching area channel dredging for the project.

As part of the project, an area of 5,554 cubic meter is being added to the existing harbor with the dredging of 100 cubic meters being added to the harbor entrance currently in use along with 156 meters of outer sea wall, 74 meters of revetment and developing pavement on an area of 594 square meters.

The project was at contracted by the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure for MVR 18.5 million. And the project was mobilized on 8 June 2020.
