The total number of people that have recovered from COVID-19 in the Maldives has risen to 12,640 after another 19 people recovers from the illness.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 19 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 12,640 with another 63 people still in treatment.

In the same time frame, 18 people have tested positive including 16 people in Male' area and 1 person from the atolls along with a person from a resort under development. HPA did not clarify numbers in terms of locals and foreigners.

Statistics from the HPA show that there are 60 people being treated at the hospitals.

So far, there have been 48 COVID-related fatalities in the Maldives that includes 41 locals, six Bangladeshi nationals and a man from Philippines.
