A fire incident has taken place at Baa Atoll Reethi Beach Resort today.

Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) revealed that the fire incident at the resort was reported at around 11:34 a.m this morning. MNDF also said that the officers from the Northern Area fire station at Lh. Naifaru were active on scene following the incident.

MNDF also reports that while the workshop and engine shed of the resort were burning, the fire had been brought under control by the teams.

There were approximately 200 tourists at the resort at the time of the fire.

A recent incident of fire was also reported at Gili Lankanfushi Resort. The resort sustained severe damages and have now been closed off.
