Another person who was a victim of the boat fire in the harbor of Gaafu Dhaalu Thinadhoo, has passed away while under going treatment.

Media Official of the Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) has confirmed to One Online that a 32-year-old man who was a victim of the incident passed away today. The official said that the man had stained 50 burns on the body in the fire incident and was brought to the hospital on 26 November 2020.

He was initially treated at the surgical ward but he passed away at the ICU where he was being treated since 1 December, according to the official.

MNDF has previously said that the fire on board the vessel “Raasthaa” on the night of 23 November due to a leak from the gas cylinder on board.

While four people were injured in the incident, a 40-year-old victim of the fire incident who was brought to Male’ City for further treatment passed away on 1 December.
