Maldives Immigration Department has revealed that over 35,000 tourist arrivals were recorded in November, marking the highest since the country reopened its' borders for tourism.
Statistics by the department show that 35,756 tourist arrivals were recorded in total during the month of November. This marks a 66% growth in the number in comparison to the previous month. 21, 515 tourist arrivals were recorded in the month of October.
On average, 1,192 tourists visited the Madives daily with the highest recorded total being 2,299 arrivals on a single day.
Russia was the top tourist market for the month of November, with 8,851 tourist arrivals from Russia. India follows closely behind with 7,610 arrivals with England trailing behind at 2,093 arrivals.
Over 16 airlines have been operating scheduled flights to the Maldives since the border reopened. This includes prominent airlines such as Emirates, Qatar Airways, and Etihad.
