The British Airways are set to resume their flights to the Maldives after a hiatus.
After the Maldives reopened its borders on 15 July 2020 after closing them amid the COVID-19 crisis, British Airways initially resumed flights between Velena International Airport (VIA) and London, Heathrow, on 17 October with three flights a week.
However, the airline cancelled flights after the UK went under lock down due to high number of COVID cases.
Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL), who operations VIA, said that British Airways will be resuming flights to the Maldives with daily flights until next Tuesday.
Statistics from the Tourism Ministry show 67,564 tourists visiting the Maldives as of 25 November including 5,035 tourists from the UK.
