A young woman has passed away following a traffic collision in Male’ City last night.

Maldives Police Service said that a 24-year-old woman passed away while undergoing treated following a traffic collision near Dharumavantha Hospital on Friday night around 10 p.m..

The vehicle was driven by a 24-year-old man who does not have a driver’s license, according to the police, and the woman who passed away was sitting on the back seat.

Police that the incident took place when the speeding vehicle on Ameenee Magu lost control while turning on to Boduthakurufaanu Magu near the hospital and collided on to the running trac.

The incident is being investigated further by the police.
