President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and Vice President Faisal Naseem has disclosed their financial statements. The statements were released as part of the current administration's directive to quell corruption and its impact on the nation.

In addition to the President and VP, the president's entire cabinet also disclosed their income and assets today. The statements have been published in the official website of the President's Office.

Eliminating corruption and carrying out a fair administration is of paramount importance to President Solih. Revealing and regularly reviewing financial documents of government related bodies and companies as well as those appointed to high positions is one of the pledges of President Solih.

It should be noted that this is the first time in the history of Maldives that the government has taken such as initiative.

All future government bodies, companies and senior officials are required to disclose their financial statements. The statements will be published on the website of the President's Office and updated once every year.

The government will be closely working with the respective authorities and NGO's and referring to their advice in carrying out this anti-corruption initiative.
