Police: Man found dead in south harbor went into the sea on his own

Maldives Police Service has said that the man who was found dead in the water at the south harbor in Male’ City went into the sea by his own accord.

Police said that the CCTV footage from the area show the man going into the sea around 9:29 a.m. and moments after going in the water, he floats motionless.

No further information was offered by the police regarding the case.

The deceased found in the sea yesterday is a 58-year-old man from the UK. Police have previously said that the man was dead when he was transported to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).
