A dead body has been discovered in the lagoon at the south-side harbor of Male' City.

One Online journalists that attended the scene reported that the body was found in the sea towards the Male’ Jail and the body was semi-floating when the Maldives Police Service arrived.

A bag and shoes were found on land aligning with the body in the sea and police officers said that they belonged to the person in the sea according to journalists.

Regarding the case, police said that a body in the lagoon was reported this morning at 9:43 a.m. and the body has now been taken to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH). No further details were offered.
